Just wondering 'cuz they were here all day long...
3 batches of soap...
1st CP for me, everything was going along just swimmingly. Or so I thought. I have no idea what I did wrong, except that I swear every 2 minutes someone was calling me on the phone, then DH came in & asked if I had a few minutes, obviously not. Finally got in in the mold before it was SOS. Um, took it out of the mold this afternoon, or at least that was the plan. It never set up. I mean at all. it was just one great big glob.

On to batch # 2 back to the HP...
Everything is good, oils are melted, & I decide to add ground peppermint & ground chamomile to the oils this time, instead of the end, when I add the color & EO. In with the l & OMG what a putrid smell. OK, so maybe the smell will die down, fade away, whatever when it's finished. NOT!!! And, it turned out like the color of used gear oil. EEWWWW!

Batch #3 HP

Um...don't really know what happened here, but I think I tried to put in it the mold too soon. So I'm spending the day rebatching #3, so disgusted I threw out # 1 & 2.

Oh, and I ended up burning myself with the raw soap. It got under my fingernail & I didn't realize it until it was burning like fire....

Hopefully today is a better soaping day.

I'm feeling with you! I just threw those evil soap fairies out; maybe they flew right over to your house

I know I probably should have kept it. I was just so disgusted....

Dagmar...I just noticed you're from the Netherlands. My husband is from Holland. I could tell you where, but I would probably murder the spelling of the town name. I'm hoping to get to go there, but it will probably be in about 15 years LOL...waiting till all the kids get out of the house.

It wasn't me! It wasn't me!! *lol*

I wish you well in your next batch!!

I think you have to scroll bouts half way down.
A little heart breaks with every besmirching. Sob

You're right & in their defense I shall henceforth call them the soap goblins.

Now that makes sense to me, I am not necesarily letting the Grinch totally of the hook ,but the Goblins I have met, and I have met a few that purport to be humans, they would muck up a persons soul and soap just for the heck of it.
You're forgiven.

Personally I've seen Pixies playing around in my kitchen now and then just looking for something they can play with.....they are such playful little creatures that like to create all kinds of trouble just for the fun of your reaction! :?

Pixies ?

Your've seen pixies,? hmmmm , and hmmm again.
personaly I can't vouch for pixies ,or the soap you were in hailing at that time.
Fairies are more up my toadstool.
We will await.
A pixie expert may be amongst us yet.
Pixies

Pixies can be mischievous or they can be helpful - depending on their mood. You can influence their mood (..sometimes..) however faeries are their age-old antagonists, so pixies may well drop in to spoil a soap batch because they know faeryfolk will be blamed....

Tanya (alias 'the pixie expert' )

What a relief.

Thats such a relief that we have some one who knows on board.
Now , is it the old saucer of milk one leaves out to subdue the pixies?Maybe something stronger or chocolate? Maybe you sing to them?
Waiting to be informed.

Folklore states that a saucer of milk is the preferred treat for pixies....however I feel that pixies have moved with the times and often can be seen supping from a saucer of your favourite tipple (in my case, red wine....)......truly

Tanya :)

hey angbaby
If you'd tell me I could probably understand, even with bad spelling  I's not that big haha
 I really hope you'll stay away for at least ten years; cause I don't have much competition now 8) That should give me enough time to set up a business  Just kidding
It's pretty relaxed over here, so I hope for you you will be able to move one day! And if things go wrong, you can always smoke some marihuana

Fairys and pixies are allergic to silver. It burns their skin and can kill them if it gets into their blood. So you have to bring out your good silver to keep them away.

No wonder those Pixies were such devils - I was giving them Sambucha - black at that - methinks they were a little on the tipsy side...sheesh

Digit I've been admiring and giggling at your avatar too - love it!!!!!

Angbaby4974 - getting back on topic - how are you doing? Did you get your soap back on track?

worst week ever for soaping. My CP that I thought was going to be wonderful...well lets just say that I don't think I would give it away. ended up rebatching one of the Hp soaps I did, & t turned out OK, not really the color I was looking for, but still a pretty, light coral color, in heart shaped molds, with a flower stamped on top. I'd take pictures, but we just got home from Monster Jam & my memory card is full & the battery is dead on the camera. Maybe later tomorrow evening. The nasty smelling one that looked(and smelled) like burnt gear oil, well, I rebatched it, but think I added too much water & so it's still setting up. Will probably take a little bit to see how that one comes out. At least when I rebatched it most of the stink went away. I really think that for now, I'm just gonna stick to HP, with a tried & true recipe. Most of the time I rush into things full force. And never really master anything, but I'm very good at lots of things. I think that I will try to perfect one process at a time with the soaping.

Anyways, with the kiddos at their grandma's house, DH & I have been hanging out, last night we didn't get to bed til 4 am, & the sun, evil wicked sun, came through the windows at 8:30 burning my eyelids...have had a heck of a hangover all day, went to Monster Jam this afternoon, then out to the bar with some friends & finally I am home. I AM TIRED!!! And way too old to be acting like a teenager LOL!

On a brighter note, I will be soaping all day tomorrow with a dear friend of mine. We are thinking of going into business together. She makes amazing bath salts & massage oils, not to mention some really great soap! We are having a party at my house next weekend to kinda feel out the prospects of selling the soap & get general ideas from a lot of our friends & colleagues. We will have some of our stuff for sale, with samples of everything & gift baskets for silly stuff, like the guest who brings the most people with them, etc. Kind of a demographic survey party  I also had a lady stop by on Friday, saying that someone had told her about my soaps. I invited her in, gave her a couple of small samples from some of the rebatches, & she was delighted! She will also be attending the party. I'm excited (still very tired, but excited). This week is going to be a whilrwind, so I may only be able to check in from time to time, but I will try to get some pics up of the rebatches & I will definitely let you all know how the party goes.

So that is what happens over there
