I just had to peak. I didn't put something on top of the soap before I put the wood cover on the mold! Well I wanted to peek and the wood cover was a little stuck. It's still so soft.
Did I ruin the soap by not putting freezer paper beneath the wood cover and did I ruin it by pulling up on the wood cover?

My first batch.

no you didn't ruin it! the top will be a bit rough, but that's it.

Is it ok that I didn't put plastic on top of the mold before putting the wood top on and wrapping in the blanket?

I do peaks and I never cover them at all, just spritz with alcohol and leave it alone...LOL, but sometimes I do get ash...boooo

Don't worry- your soap will be fine! :) I rarely if ever use plastic wrap on mine (just my wood cover) and nothing dire ever happens except maybe a little minor ash from time to time, but that just washes right off.

IrishLass :)
