I made my first batch of salt bars yesterday. I used 90% coconut oil, 10% rice bran oil with a 20% super fat and salt at 50% weight of oils. I unmolded and cut within 2 hours and the loaf was still warm and firm, but soft. I suspect I could have waited a tad longer to cut at this percentage of salt.
Anyway, for those of you that make salt bars in a loaf mold, do/have you used a wire cutter to cut? I used a regular blade soap cutter because I was unsure of how it would go if I used the wire. I'm thinking it would be fine as long as the loaf is not super hard.
