Ok, I think I understand the concept on how to make them, BUT...Do you need to let them cure befor you add them to the batch of soap? Won't they melt when the new soap gels? I REALLY want to try this, I just want to have my facts straight!
Thanks!!

They will fuse with the soap, but they will still be very visible. If you want to be ABSOLUTELY SURE that they don't change at all, you can always put your soap in the fridge and not gel it. Give it an extra day before you cut and give it a few more days to keep it from zapping.

I have used fresh curls and shreds and ones that have been around for a bit. Both worked just fine for me.

I have used fresh and older , gel and no gel , it all works . If my shreds are older and dry I give them a mist of water before I mix them into the soap.

I just did 2 batches with grated soap. I put the mold under the ceiling fan to avoid gel. Worked perfectly!!
