I've made a load of little cupcakes which I'm very pleased with. They look and smell great, but I have one problem - as soon as the get used, the whipped top comes away from the bottom part! :(

I originally made them with MP for the base and whipped CP for the top and I thought the problem was because of the different types of soap, but I made CP bases with whipped CP top and the same thing happened!

Any ideas on how to fix this?? All suggestions greatly appreciated!!
Thanks

I use CP for the top and bottom of mine. When I mix up a batch, I split it and then use about half and whip it for the icing.

I would think that you would need to spray the M&P cupcake tops with alcohol to make the CP frosting stick but I don't know if even that will work. Good luck!

i make my batches of cupcake bottoms and let them sit in the oven to begin to gel while i make my whipped soap for the tops. by the time my whipped soap is at the right consistency, my bottoms are warm but solid enough to support the weight of the cupcake top, so i take them out of the oven and pipe the tops on, then i leave them on the countertop in a safe place until they are solid and ready to unmold.

That sounds like a really good idea!! What temp do you have your oven set at?
Do you make your tops and bottoms from the same batch or do you make a seperate batch for the top??

Thanks

i make my bottoms separate. i start from measuring the oils etc and make the entire batch, then once those are done, i clean up my bowls and spoons and stuff and start over again with the tops.
i tried doing both at the same time but my soap for the tops got too thick and started to gel and stuff in the bowl while i was waiting for the bottoms to get solid.
