I just made my first batch of soap yesterday. Everything went great. Poured it in the mold, wrapped it in a towel and left it alone. I went to cut it today and it cut okay but once I got to the bottom it crumbled. What did I do? I measured each ingredient. Can it be saved? ImageUploadedBySoap Making1413163844.616570.jpg

It looks like you waited too long to cut and its really hard. Do you have a wire cheese cutter? You can try and slice it with that or use a very thin knife and cut slow.
If it crumbles too much, you can shred it and rebatch.

I waited just over 24 hours. I finished the batch about 8pm EST and I cut it about 9 pm the next night. Is that too long?

20% coconut
45% olive oil
20% canola
10% sunflower
5% castor

I'm pretty sure thats what it ended up being.
