Hey everyone.
Im really new to making soap.
I have attempted a few times at making crock pot soap, but the only time that the sap turned out really well, the fragrance was really off from what it was initially suppose to be.
Does anyone know of any easy crock pot recipes which don't consist of too many different oils?
That would be great.
Thank you so much everyone.
Suzyy :)

When did you add you add the fragrance? What kind of fragrance oil was it? Was it meant for soap?
I always add my FO or EO once the soap has cooked out, and never had a problem with it changing the fragrance, it always holds better tha CP in my opinion.

what kind of oils do you have? i like 12 oo, 9 po, 9co 3 castor.

Well, The fragrance I bought was for soaps & I also bought essential oils also. Although, I did add the fragrance while it was still cooking. I think thats the mistake I made lol.
The Oils I have are Grape seed oil, coconut, palm oil, & Olive oil. I am ok with buying a few more but something that fits my budget.

That was what went wrong. When doing HP you need to add the fragrance or EO after the soap is done and has cooled down a bit.

Good Luck on your next batch:)

That's true.
Now im just looking for an actual recipe for an easy crock pot soap.
I was looking online for the library closest to me to see if they had any books about it but no luck :(

Anybody have any suggestions?
& since i am new, I need recipes including ounces for each ingredient.

Thank you so much to anyone who happens to help :)

suzy
use oo, po, co and castor it will be great soap.
12 oz oo
9 po
9 co
3 castor( you can get from natural store or pharmacy)
4.6 lye 12.5 water( i use 1 ounce less, gets hard faster).
good luck.

Thank you so much. That is so great.
Now, did you mean you use one ounce less of the water, or lye?
Im going to assume water, but correct me if im wrong lol

So today I went to the mall closest to my home and remembered that there was a Health food store. I never walked into that store in my life, but when i walked in, all I saw was protein shakes and pills but as I looked down, I saw a few oil bottles that look familiar to me from tutorials on youtube. So I checked them out. They had castor oil for $8.95 and they had sweet almond oil for $5.85 and they also had jojoba oil for $35.00 which i didn't get because i don't have that kind of money to spend. They had vitamin e oil. & more. I was so happy to see I finally found a store close by me that had oils that I couldn't find anywhere else.

So right now I've got my batch in the Crock pot. & It's starting very slowly to go through is "volcanic" stage. Im super excited right now :)
Oh, & thanks to all the wonderful people here, I have now waited to add my scent LOL.
Even my parent's were like" Weird. The house doesn't smell bad like it would the other times you made soap" LOL :)

Thanks a lot guys & I'll keep you updates on how the soap goes.

Yea, I used to get my Castor at Whole Foods - they sell it as massage oil in either 8 or 12 oz bottles. Less expensive and simpler to deal with (not to mention more environmentally friendly) than the tiny 2 oz bottles they sell at CVS!

Isn't it fun?

Suzy
yeah, have fun, what fo did you decide on? If you decide to soap alot castor by the gallon is cheaper, but i do sometimes buy it at health store, pics when your soap is done????

Hey guys.
So Im sad to say that im not super satisfied with my soap from last night :(
I made the soap with the recipe i got from someone here, and its not hard enough :(
I added it to the freezer for about 10 minutes and its hard, but not as hard as soap should be.

Also, I made a VERY big mistake. I bought these plastic containers at the Dollarama and i used those as my mold. Unfortunately, the bottom stuck and i cant get my soap out. What should I use next time to line the mold so it wont stick?

Freezer paper works to line molds. You don't need to line a silicone mold. I guess for a fancy type heavy duty mold with a design in the bottom you could use vaseline or maybe a nonstick cooking spray in HP. If you are doing CP the cooking spray mighty saponify.
