I think my soap cracked due to the kaolin clay I put in. I hear i should add it with water prior to adding to my soap. Any thoughts? I soap at room temp it was about 75° this is the lavender lemonade FO from brambleberry. I added some tussah silk and cranberry seeds. Yellow oxide and purple mica. Lavender EO and sprigs of real lavender as well

It looked like it cracked around the lavender sprig. It could be the woody stem absorbing liquid, expanding, and cracking the soap.

Maybe the clay contributed, but a lot of people use clays in their soap without problems. You don't say how much you used, so who knows?

I used about 1 tbsp. I think that sounds like a good theory with the sprigs. I'll have to try again to see if the same thing happens. Thank you

It could have been a double whammy of the sprig and then the pressure when you stamped. I've had soap crack if I've pushed down to hard, and my stamp is much smaller than yours.
