Well, we started off to make another video for two color swirls. However, we either blended too long, or the So Cal FO is a fast tracer, and the colors got way too thick before we could pour. It was more like large colored bird droppings into the batch, instead of a nice thin stream up, down, and across the batch. By this time we were pissed and cursing at all creatures large and small. We figured the recording was at least "R" rated, and decided to scrap the whole "let's do another video" idea for now. We dove in and did the Billie swirls, just to see what would happen.

Hurray. They actually turned out OK, so we will give you our still picture version. The textured look you see on the bar face actually was not part of our grand plan either. It was a happy accident (to quote Bob Ross) as a result of the quick trace before we could finish the swirls.

Anyway, here they are.

Sometimes Billie probably wishes I would not. I was able to retire early a couple of years ago, and my job now is to bug her. Actually, we really enjoy it and have turned most of our basement into a soap/candle lab. When were not on our boat, we're soap'in...

Another pretty batch. How do you get them out of the mold? Take out the dividers and they just fall out?

Yes, once the two wing nuts are undone the sides basically fall off. Then we flip the base over, peel off the foam bottom liner, and the soaps fall or with slight pushing they come out of the dividers. These are homemade wood molds with a thin 1/32" lexan liner glued on the sides and 1/8" lexan dividers. If you catch our video on a different batch, you will see us unload one.

You can also tell a little better from the pictures in this posting, where I describe how I made them.

I love the swirl and texture. So pretty!

My husband usually shows up at the time I'm to put the soap in the mold and just kind of takes over. He actually asked me last night, "oh, did you want to do it?" Yep sure did! But then he gathered all the dishes and washed them! I can't complain about that!
