Soooo... I think I got it halfway lol

Poured like a dream until the very last 1/3 so there's awful air pockets that refused to go away even with all the thumping I did lol

It's a high lard recipe same as my previously posted lemongrass soap. This always gives me great, smooth HP soap, as you can probably see there and below, pics of the side and bottom of the loaf. 2.8:1 water, with a portion of water reserved for after the cook plus yogurt for fluidity.

Yogurt is da bomb yo!

Lol

@Marilyn Norgart, can you guess now what swirl I attempted? :)

I should probably use more colorant for the next try but I don't mind these pastel like hues. I also need to move quicker. At least now I know that this particular swirl is indeed doable in HP, and I'm happy.

Thanks for reading!

ITP?? turned out awesome esp for a HP with swirls. I am impressed to say the least...…..now you make me want to try some HP (haven't done that in a while). I love the soft colors for sure!! congrats girlie!!!!! :)

Thank you @KiwiSoap!

Thanks! It was an attempt at a tiger stripe lol and only managed a couple of stripes on the bottom of some of the bars but I'll try again.

did I ever tell you that when I got into soaping by myself I was so frustrated and all most gave up until you told me about HP :) true fact!!! I am soooooo glad I didn't quit now--thanks :)
Awww I'm glad you didn't quit then I like looking at the soaps you post. And you're so nice to have around on the forum :)

Can't wait to see your next HP soap ;)

Looks good.

If you want a different technique we did a sou vide challenge about a year or so ago. You cook the soap in a water bath and it came out extremely fluid for me. I was able to get a bit of a hanger swirl going, maybe you can get the fluidity you want with that

I saw that.. Will have to read more on it and see if I manage it. This wasn't so bad actually, just became unbelievably thick in the last three pours so I had to squish it in and spoiled the layers underneath. Thank you!
so how did you do the stripes?
I had the main color which was off white poured down the center of my mold.. then the next color with indigo poured on top of the previous layer, again down the center.. then the last color with paprika on top of that. And repeat. Check out the monthly challenge, there's better examples and some YT links, too.
Great job Dawni! Tiger stripes in HP - I'm very impressed!!!
Thank you! I was inspired, and challenged by what you said in your challenge post about figuring out how to do it in HP so I tried it. I'll have to make a much better one for my entry...

Thanks @earlene, I shall strive to make the next ones a success hehe

@jcandleattic, thank you :)

kinda looks like a funnel pour that's why I asked :) I really like the technique you used--there are so many different ways to manipulte the pour.
