Costco price for Olive oil went UP !

Costco had the 2 jugs (6.something quarts) for 29.99 [ refined OO & 15% extra VOO mix]
I just saw that it is now $31.99

FYI, in case this means that Olive Oil will be going up else where

Ours went up to 31.99 a several months ago. That's why I'm switching to HO Sunflower/HO Safflower (haven't decided yet). Just finishing my stash.

I've heard that OO was going to go up in price but have not seen that so far with Soaper's Choice, I use pomace. I have a small stash of HO Sunflower to use and have tried it in some test batches, I like it a lot but so far the pomace price has not changed. I see that some mentioned RBO, is it similar to HO Sunflower/Safflower? I've never checked the prices of that on SC, just curious if it's an easy replacement for pomace.

I have always paid that price for Kirkland Olive oil at Costco. No price change here.

Check out the thread on Riceland brand rice bran sold at Lowe's for deep frying turkeys. Replace the olive with rice bran and save a bunch.

I always disliked the color of Rice Bran Oil. Sunflower HO and Canola HO make a very light color soap, depending what you use for hard oils or butters.

Rice bran oil is 3 times higher in linoleic acid than OO, so if you decide to replace OO with it, just make sure to keep a watch on the total linoleic content of your batch (for DOS sake).

I get 3 l for 16.99 in Wholesale club it is identical color as Costco one and behaves exactly the same way
