I tried hot processing my first batch tonight and I have to say I LOVED it. I didn't have to sit on top of it the whole time and it felt much less stressful. I don't think I will do this with every batch but if I have a floral or a scent I really want to pop, I am ALL over this.

Thank you. I spent all day Friday doing a search through old thread to see the best ways. You guys are the greatest!

Cool.

You say you don't have to sit on it The reason (well one reason) I don't like HP is because I DO have to, whereas with Cold Process I just our and leave.

LOL, I agreee with carebear! I worry I will forget about it and it will burn , or volcano ect so i am constantly back and forth worrying about it until it is done. I have learned though which crock pot works best for hp and now set a timer. But still....:)

I love HP soap for the quick turn around time. However, I have to stay right with it because it will crawl out of the crock pot if left alone for any length of time. Um, ask me how I know LOL.

I like HP because I can hover and poke and mess with it and it doesn't screw it up. It takes longer to get into the mold but it's ready to unmold and cut in no time and I can use that first bar in a couple days, which I *really* like when I'm trying out new oils or oil amounts and want to see about what to expect in CP...it's not perfect but so far it's helping figure out what oils do what first hand, faster. I'm so impatient :D

I guess I should say I liked that I could put the oils in to melt and set a timer and walk away. Timer goes off, I go check, do my thing, set my timer, I walk away. I just felt LESS intense for me (plus I got a few rows of knitting done while doing it which was a MAJOR bonus). I think as long as a timer is my friend, HP and I will stay friends.

I keep saying I am going to try but I hear it is hard to get in the molds and doesn't look as nice as CP. I soap at room temp so I don't stress to much over the process.
