Coloring Soap

So excited to have started colors in my soap! The first time adding mica I added it directly to the divided cups with out pre mixing it with a light oil. The second colored batch I mixed 1 tea spoon of mica to 1 table spoon almond oil . They both turned out fine however I feel like the mica premixed with oil got thick fast ...or maybe it was the fragrance oil. Does mica have to be premixed with oil ?

Does mica have to be premixed with oil ?

Nope. I only premix if I'm worried about getting too thick of a trace or if I'm starting with a thicker trace.
That's just because it takes longer/ more mixing for the mica to disperse when put directly in. If I do one color I just dump in and go.

I always premix, but you don’t have to….
