I have religiously tried to keep my cleansing value under 20 in SoapCalc. But every now and then a thread pops up that talks about 100% Coconut bars, or 80% coconut, 20% butter. The 80/20 formula ends up being 54 cleansing and 19 conditioning--something that I would avoid like the plague!
I read that if you superfat, you don't have to worry about the SoapCalc values--the soap will still be moisturizing. If that is the case, I would like to use a whole lot more coconut oil to get a harder bar and bubblier lather. It's just confusing since even SoapCalc only recommends a maximum of 22 for a cleansing value.
Any thoughts?
