Clear my doubt

The other day I got a mask from a soap maker locally. The ingredients were kaolin clay, zinc oxide and glycerin. She said there is no preservatives in the mask and mask shelf life is 6 months if kept in refrigerator.
Is it possible.? Should I use it for 6months or throw it of after one or 2weeks.??

Since there's no water in the formula and high percentages of glycerin is a preservative in itself (it's used a lot in medication manufacturing) there is no need to add any additional preservative, so the face mask should be perfectly fine to use for longer than 2 weeks. Just make sure not to get water into the container.

I agree with Nanda. Glycerin has a long shelf life; clay and zinc are dry powders. As long as no other moisture is introduced, it's pretty stable.

I admit, that gives me a nice idea to use up my kaolin clay. It's sitting around moping that I don't use it in it's silent way.
