For those of you with really dry skin, what cleansing number do you go for? I have a GM bar that is 5% SF, 15 cleansing and 62 conditioning. I feels great, nice and creamy and leaves my skin soft but when I used it one my face it makes my skin tight.
I really, really want a super mild bar for my face. I made another GM bar with 8% SF, 9 cleansing and 66 conditioning but it won't be ready for awhile. Do you think it will be better?

I make mine with a cleansing of 15 or less. 15 is the highest number I go, that still cleans well, but doesn't dry our skin out. BFF and DH have fought dry skin forever, but do not seem to have too many problems with mine. I normally SF at 7-8%. The soaps they prefer all contain tallow or lard, they pick those every time, even un-labeled ones that they don't know have lard or tallow in them. For me it is a trial period, I try to improve the ones that they like and figure out what makes one bar better than others, and every one has a different point of view as to what a perfect bar is.

Im on board with Kansas Farm Girl. I dont even have dry skin but I wont generally wont go over 15 Cleansing and 8% SF is my average for all my soaps. If I go Higher than that (My Vegan bars contain 50%+ Coconut oil) I will bump the SF up to 12.5% and for Pure Coconut oil bars Ill SF them at 20% to counteract the high cleansing numbers. The new batch should be much better :) Good luck!
