citrus infusion?

Has anyone made an infusion of citrus peels (orange, tangerine) for a spray for your pets?
I tried making one today and when I strained the peels out and let it cool it seems to have a layer of oil on the top. Wonder if this infusion could be used in soap making. The smell of this reminds me of an orange creamsicle. I think this would be a great smelling soap.

i loveeeeeee that smell!.... i use something similar only i be careful around my cat because i know essential oils (the scent you are loving) from the orange as well as many other things can be toxic to cats because their livers cannot eliminate it out of their system!

Could you make an infusion with mandarin orange peels? I have a citrus allergy but for whatever reason madarin oranges are okay (actually I've heard the same from other citrus allergic people). I like going as natural as I can so I was thinking........
