I picked up a really nice citrus herb fragrance oil, and was mostly just planning on using it in candles, but it is body safe as well. I really like it and it's got a nice clean scent, I'm thinking now I'd like to use it in soap as well. I can't find any info (scent review board or the supplier site) about how it does in CP..but was wondering if you guys thought the citrus scent might carry over with the herbs? I know usually citrus will fade..*sigh* it's hard not knowing!

Which fo is it & from which supplier? Maybe someone here's used it.

You could always mix it with a little litsea eo to help it.

It's called Citrus Herb and I got it from Village Craft and Candle (which I think is sometimes supplied by BCN) I unfortunately don't have any litsea eo.

Citrus FOs generally hold up better than EOs.

Could you make a small batch - say 1 lb and see how it goes? Use the usual .7 or .8 PPO. If it fades, it's only a few bars.

I will sometimes make a bunch of individual soaps, each with a different scent, in a silicone muffin pan. You can pour your soap and then blend the fragrance into each cavity individually with a latte frother. You could also use small Dixie cups and then tear away the paper after the soap has cured. Search under member name prairiecraft and fragrance or fragrance experiment if you want more details.
