Citrus blast

Here's the soap I just unmolded that contains remnants of several citrus F.O. and E.O., dried orange and lemon peel and oats.

It smells heavenly!

It LOOKS yummy too!! Does the zest scent survive the lye at all?

My soap is just one day old and my earliest indication is that it did. I will know more as it cures. It's such a light scented zest that I don't know that it will lend much more than scrubbies to the final product. But, for now, it smells great.

My one attempt at a citrus soap ended up with gelly moosh that still to this day hasn't hardened up. I live in hope.
Did you dry the zest first (like in the oven), or just use it fresh?

I used the zest that I bought in dried granules from a place called Penzey's Spices.

I will have to look for that. I have never seen dried zest over here.
