I made a couple of batches of CP soap with citric acid for the first time. Normally with my lye solution, I use crushed ice instead of water. The solution is almost perfect temperature and ready to use quickly. Well, after dissolving my lye most of the way, still icy, I added the citric acid. The solution was way hotter than normal but no explosion, thank God. I have since read threads on here that make me feel blessed nothing terrible happened.

I also used sweet almond oil for the first time at 10%, in exchange for 10% of my olive oil. I did compare SAP values so I felt fine doing that. And I used 15g of citric acid for 750g of oils and added 9g of lye per research. I waited for both my lye/CA solution + oils to come to 100 F and then mixed.

Well, the soap was super soft, I gave some bars 3 days to harden before I took them out. Normally this recipe is good in a day. Scraps from the bars felt fine on my hands, no burning. But I'm concerned after some reading on here. Is this soap safe to use or have I created something I need to rebatch? I would love some insight and in the future, I know to mix the citric acid with part of my water before adding it to the lye.
