Hii,
yesterday I made my very first HP, which I think went reasonable well. (I was a bit scared to get zap'ed, so I let my dad do it ^^,)
I attempted to "swirl" color it with red, no succes. and green, to much succes (is it still succes if it's to much?) for a christmass color. It's scented with Christmas spice FO. As you can see: I need a soap cutter...

I'm sorry for the not so sharp pictures...

Thanks for watching!

Hey, nice job! I love hp, you got an awesome swirl in yours! too bad about the red but red is pretty hard to do anyway. It still looks really great.

Thank you!
I'm not so convinced about the swirl, I colored 10-15% of the soap green and now almost 80% is green. I would have liked it a bit more subtle...

Any suggestions about what I can do with the top? Because the soap was cooling down already there are "white" bits (don't know how else to explain) in the top. 2 hours later I remembered to flatten the top but then it was already to late. It's not really what I expected, but if I cut the tops off there will be to much soap lost...

I know it didn't turn out the way you wanted but I think your soap looks wonderful. I love the crinkle cut and your swirl is great.

Isn't it funny how a little bit of color can take over a loaf? You'll have to experiment with the colorant and try less next time. The white bits might be from the soap that ashered to the sides of the pot and got a little too dry. I think it looks fine in the pic but maybe I just can't see the problem. I think the soap looks rustic.

I don't think the white bits are from the sides, made sure there wasn't anything on the sides when I started cooking and didn't stir untill the "island" was gone (total of 55 mins cooking time on low). I think it's because I didn't work fast enough. It's possible I won't be coloring soap anymore (except maybe for an occasion in 1 color) the natural color has something special...
I really can really advice you on trying HP out, it's just amazing!!
The soap has a really lovely, creamy, conditioning lather that leaves your skin very soft. I think the recipe of this one is a keeper (^^,).
I'm so happy this worked out so great, I just can't stop talking about it! (tell me when I'm starting to annoy people  )

haha hopefully it doesn't annoy anyone, after all we are on a forum dedicated to the subject :p if they don't like it they can leave, eh! LOL!!

can you explain the white part on top? I haven't gotten ash on hp before that I can remember so it's not that, right? either way if you don't like it you can just cut off or shave off the top until it's just right.

i really like your swirl. I think the color contrast is awesome.

I think it's because I used soap from the edges that was already cooling down. It would have gone in faster but since the red wasn't working out, and I kept trying. Everything cooled down...
