hi,

I've been making apple and apple/cinnamon chap stick and I'm having a real hard time wiht my labels. Yes, I occasionally spill a bit on the outside of a tube but I clean it up as much as possible before sticking hte labels on and they still seem to come loose.

Where do you all get your labels?

Cheers
Deb

I have used some colored ones and have had the same problem. Now I use weatherproof white ones from onlinelabels.com. The white ones stick well but all came from onlinelabels.com. Hope this helps.

1. after you fill, scrape off any spilled material then wipe down with a cloth spritzed with an agent that will remove the oil. I use rubbing alcohol.

2. you will have better luck if your labels wrap all the way around and overlap a tiny bit.

3. your shrink wrap should take care of that anyway. use one that you can peel off where the cap is but leave the body alone. I prefer a "t-perforation".

Thanks everyone!

So far I haven't been using shrink wrap. My stickers were covering part of the lid so that to open the lid you had to tear part of the sticker off. Worked a charm for people not opening the ones they're not supposed to! As long as you don't print on the tear off part, that is. Till now.

thanks again!

I have used Avery full sheet clear, then found a good size label on Printmaster program. I made a whole sheet and cut them out by hand. They really were great and I had no problem with them coming off. I did make sure the tube was clean, and if I had a spill, I would clean it off with alcohol first.

Rubbing alcohol is your friend! Wipe off any spillage, then use rubbing alcohol to clean the tube. It's fast, cheap, and your labels will stick nicely.
