Cerified Organic

In order to make the claim of certified organic, what type of records do you need to keep? Would my space need to be inspected or could I just provide my receipts from purchasing certified organic ingredients?

I want it to be on the up & up. I think I am getting an appontment w/ a buyer for a national chain health store.

I could just stick w/ the claim organic rather than certified for ease of sale.

My friend raises pigs and I know that she would have had to jump through hoops to get the government to certify her as organic. They had to come out and inspect her property, test the soil, the feed, etc...and the paperwork was enough to turn her off.... I would assume that bath products would have similar steps to follow and inspections to complete.

I wondered that same thing.
I assume that the product has to be tested, the facility probably has to be tested.

I'm thinking that it would cost a fortune.

It's a difficult, but not impossible process. If you aren't already, make sure you get the certs from your suppliers.
