Your soap is beautiful! Now my understanding to prevent gel is to put the mold directly into the fridge after pouring. CPOP is a different process, you use it to insure gelling and speed up saponification. You don't use both these processes together!

edit - I am loving all the pics. :D

Correct. I guess what I left out was that right after I poured it into the mold and shoved it in the oven I had this bright idea to go ahead and try non gel. That's why I threw it in the freezer before it really got started. Wasn't in the oven but a few minutes and was not yet very warm when I pulled it out. Maybe. I think.
Sorry if I gave the wrong impression. They are separate and you do one or the other unless you are learning everything the hard way - like me. :?

I couldn't wait longer to see how it was doing. Took it out of the fridge early this AM and checked it. Still a bit sticky but firm. Decided to try and slice off a tiny bit. Cut about a 1/4 inch slice. It was harder to cut than other I've made but didn't need a table saw. The texture was very smooth. I think I'm really going to like it. The knife stuck to the slice when finished and pulled away with a good bit of soap stuck to it even though I tried to rotate it a bit as I removed it. Still too sticky. Did a zap test and it lit me up! First time that has happened. Now I really know what it's like. No, it wasn't bad, just a surprise. Back to the fridge.
Carebear, you're on track. Looks as if a week is going to be pretty accurate. Why don't I listen? This is fun though.

Your cat may no longer be a man, but he sure sits like one. I thought his name was Bump from that first cat post and was going to say that you missed. His name should be Lump. But ManKatt, yes, that is good for him.

NIce creamy looking soap. Can't wait (but have to for months) to hear your assessment of its lather.

My first thought about your first post was "I thought Dennis was a man. Are those his hands?". The hand model explains it. WHew.

Your soap looks fantastic ... and ManKatt is divine! My hubby used to have a fluffy ginger named Otis ... he was an amazing pet and used to behave like a dog more often than a cat.

busymakinsoap! your ginger is also a real beauty!

I love the way cats laze around ... beautiful animals!
