Can I use the same silicone molds for CP soap and also for candles?

I know it is bad form and bad manufacturing process to use hobby tools for cooking and vice versa. However I can’t think of any reason I shouldn’t be able to use the same molds for soaps and also for candles.

But I’m a beginner and can’t think of lots of things so I wanted to check here with those who know more.

I'm not a candle maker, but I'd have no problem using a soap mold for candles and vice versa. Only issue I can think of is the material the mold is made from needs to be compatible with lye.

Other than that, silicone molds should handle both without issues!

just to be sure I’m understanding correctly, you’re saying I can definitely use silicone molds for soap and candles, but not the same mold to make soap and then also use that mold for a batch of candles?

I would be concerned if there is an ingredient in the candles that someone might be allergic to if it's in their soap.

Very legitimate concern to keep in mind! I don’t sell anything though, just for me and family and friends so I’m very aware of any sensitivities. I’ll definitely keep this in mind if I give soap/candles out to a wider audience. Thanks
