I am wondering if there is a straight forward way to create a recipe with only the quantity of lye on hand. For example, I have 7.3 ounces of lye left over. I need how much oils I have in hand?? Is there a formula? Or is it a plug in and play with numbers kinda game?

I actually had to do just that a little while back I had exactly 35 grams of lye left... I pretty much had to mess with it until it equaled the amount.. I dont think there is an easy way to do it... I used one oil (EVOO) just to make it easy on myself)

That's what I was kinda thinking too. I'll have to play around with the numbers tomorrow :)
BTW, thanks again for your help. Soaps in mold now, looks good. I'll let you know how everything comes out later. Maybe if I get an energy boost I'll figure out how to get some pictures of it up. lol

splendid job!! :) is that the one with the little bit of lye you had left or the other recipe before that??

either way, it looks great!!! :)

It's the other recipe. I'm playing with the wieght of my left over lye tonight. Wish me luck!
