So I used the buttercup yellow mica from Brambleberry and while the orange color threw me off at first, the pretty yellow it turned into was very nice. But it had a problem of ricing and speeding up the batter! I divided my batter into six bowls, all with the same amount of soap, colorant, and fragrance oil in them. The only one that accelerated was the yellow. Anyone have this experience before? How about a better yellow color that's just as vibrant and rich, but without the weird orange thing?

In my recollection I have not experienced ricing with a colorant, but thickening/apparent acceleration, yes. I have found that when I read the ingredient list on the mica in question, it invariably contains Titanium Dioxide, which I know always thickens my soap batter more than other colorants.

Since I don't know what BB's buttercup yellow looks like, I cannot answer the last question. I don't use a lot of colorants from BB. I do have some, but most of my micas come from Steph's Micas & More (aka Micas & More) or Nurture Soaps.
