Borax and Risk

Lately I've been toying with the idea of making laundry soap and most I've come across requires Borax. I'm not sure if I'm over sensitive but is Borax safe?

Someone much smarter than me will have to chime in. I do add borax (20 mule team stuff) to my washer with my regular detergent and it's a great additive for my laundry. I've also sprinkled borax and baking soda to scrub my bathtub--it gets it sparkling clean.

It is not harmful when used correctly and in small amounts. Like when making laundry soap. I personally would not eat large amounts of it or snort it, just to be safe. Wink. No but it's totally fine to use in your laundry soap, at least I have been using it for quite a while.
