I'm new to this, I would love to make body sprays and perfumes. I have read several different recipes, using distilled water and vodka and eo, I was wondering if you can omit the water and just add vodka, since adding water calls for a perservative?

As long as you don't plan on selling them you can. I'd also include a polysorbate to help the oils from separating.

I just use Everclear and FO (or EO) for my own perfume sprays. Works great. I like it better than vodka because the higher proof of the Everclear causes it to be able to mix with whatever I throw at it without any separation (unlike some of my FOs in vodka). Not every state in the US sells Everclear, though. You'll need to check to see if it's available in yours. Happily, mine is one of the states that sells it.

I hear that fractionated coconut oil works good, too, but I don't know if it would make things oily or not, though.

IrishLass :)

has anyone every used the perfumers alcohol, and if you use alcohol , do you still need a preservative? if you do need a preservative, I'm not good at the math, it would be such a small amount, I don't know how to figure how much to had.
