i want to make a body salve that is like the consistency of vaseline, maybe a bit thicker, for my ds who is having a skin reaction because of food allergies. he gets really dry exema like patches and i want to put something in it to soothe and calm the irritation and soften his skin too.

i made a mix of
4 oz beeswax
1 cup OO
1/4 cup of castor oil
few drops of chamomile EO
i melted, mixed and poured everything into a small glass jar and let it cool. the only thing is it seems more like lip balm than vaseline. is there anything i can do to fix that? anything that would be better to add than or along with the chamomile?

i am out of almost everything again and dont have any shea butter. the salve has now cooled and i tried using it. it is hard and has little lumps of what looks like beeswax pellets in it. i melted and mixed the oils and wax really well so i don't know how it got back to pelletishnes.
if i added more castor or OO would it soften up a bit?

yes, it will, but it might take a lot of oil and I dont know that the texture is what you are looking for. and remember you wil be diluting yourEO.

maybe warm up and pour into lip balm tubes for application that way?
