I recently made a body butter with

Mango Butter - 34%
Shea Butter - 34%
Avocado Oil - 9.5%
Hemp Oil - 9.5%
Sunflower Oil - 9.5%
Calendula Extract - 1.5%
Arrowroot - 2.2%

it still seems pretty oily, but it’s at the right texture as hardness goes. Is there anything I can do??

Your thread title suggests that it's too hard, but your post says it's the right texture. Can you clarify what you are asking here?

That (28.5%) seems like a lot of liquid oils to me, so I’m not surprised it feels oily. I don’t know that the arrowroot powder you are using would be able to help much to combat the oily feel. I’d try experimenting with lowering the liquid oil ratio and see if you can find the right balance of not as oily while not loosing the texture you are liking.

Your percentages and up to 100.2.

You might want to increase the mango butter and decrease the shea percentages. Shea tends to linger longer on the skin than mango. And add in some fast absorbing liquid oils like jojoba or meadowfoam seed oil

Oops! I meant too oily, I was thinking about the texture being just the right hardness and didn’t proofread before I submitted!

Since it’s the right texture, I’m sure adding more arrowroot would stiffen it up even more.

I will try this! Thank you!

I’ve been focussing on max 70% butters to 30% oil

I rounded some things up, for easier reading on my end, probably should have just left it they way it was hahaha! I’ll try increasing the mango butter! Jojoba oil was going to go in my next experiment batch! :)

Thank you!!
