I bought this FO from BB several months ago. The next day I came home from work on my lunch break and my house REEKED of tobacco. It's one of my only soap fails that I chucked straight in the garbage without attempting to rebatch.
I still have a few ozs of the FO left, and I was thinking about making a second attempt. Was anyone else who has used it as disgusted as I was? And more importantly, does the scent of this one mellow/change over time? I still regret throwing it out! I hate wasting soap.

I've soaped it and it does smell a lot smokier than I was expecting. It mellow after a good cure though. I still don't love it, but many of my testers love it. Still, I doubt I'll buy it again. I have a couple of ounces left as well, and I'm trying to decide if I'll like it better in a blend.

You might like DS's BlacK Tea FO better. I just soaped it in a sample batch and I'm not detecting any smokiness. Smells just like tea to me. I am thinking of using it in a blend though.

I also bought this from BB hoping to mix in some Earl Grey tea to make a scrub bar, but when I smelled it I just put it on the shelf and it's stayed there ever since. YUCK!!

I like AHRE's Tibetan Black Tea. I've also heard very good things about SW's Keenum Black Iced Tea (that maybe isn't the exact name but it's close).

OMG just soaped with it & its just what I hoped for, I love it it reminds me of my grandpapa.
I think it would be better with a little more sweetness added
I'm thinking maybe a tad of
Amber or frankinsense or ..... somthing like that
I'll take anyones BB black tea off their hands, I love it!

Does it still smell really strong of tobacco at the end of cure?

I soaped a Nag Champa once (can't remember the supplier) that riced. I rebatched it, let it sit for a month or so, decided I didn't like it, and threw it out. Recently I opened the cabinet that I had stashed it in (because I hated the smell so much) and it smelled divine...I dug around and came up with an end piece from the Nag batch, almost a full year old!!

I really regretted throwing it out, and it reminded me of my Black Tea misadventure. I think I may try again.
