Howdy folks,

I haven't tried any strawberry FOs yet, but I'm looking for a non-discoloring one that is lip-smacking good. I have plans for a chocolate-base, strawberry-frosted cupcake. With sprinkles.

Any ideas? TIA!

I've only had experience with one strawberry FO-Fresh Strawberry from Nature's Garden. I haven't had much issue with the browning, but I only used it either in small amounts, or with vanilla stabilizer and TD. It smells good OOB, but it does tend to fade in CP soap. :(

I tried strawberry jam from WSP and it was OK. Faded quite a bit and a bit syrupy sweet. I would imagine there are better ones that don't get quite as dark too. Its got 5.5% vanilla. I can't wait to see what others say though, I'd like a nice strawberry.

I also got Strawberry Jam from WSP. It's not terrible, but I wouldn't re-order. It does discolor to a dark brown. I'm calling it "Toast & Jam" b/c it definitely has some kind of bread/toasty/baked good note to me.

Have you tried Strawberry Passion from Nature's Garden? It's a nice strawberry, I've not used it in soap though.

Thanks everyone! It sounds like finding a non-discoloring FO that smells good and sticks is going to be a challenge. Based on the reviews on WSP site, I think I might try out their Fresh Picked Strawberry. It seems like one of the few that gets okay reviews...

I actually used brambleberrys strawberry surplus in hot process for cupcakes and it came out great, smelled divine and 8 months later the scent was still strong. I tried it in cold process, it riced, I forced it into submission and the next day all of the scent was gone... I was very sad but I rebatched it that next day into the "HP" frosting. It was so close to when I made it that it behaved less like rebatch and more like traditional HP)
