Best price for 20# of lye?

I expect to use 20 to 25 lbs of lye by mid fall. Lye Guy is not cheaper than Amazon. Any other sources out there?

I am not a huge help but ...

My local Ace Hardware sends me an occasional coupon for $5 off if you spend $20. They had Red devil Lye for $4.50 a 1# bottle so I bought 5 I am happy with it for now.
I have not been able to find a place that sells the 50# bag anymore.

I placed a 5# of Lye in cart for $15 and shipping was $112 to Massachusetts ????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But free shipping if I get a 16# ?

I know it is more than what you asked for, but I get my sodium hydroxide from Bulk Apothecary. A 50 lb pail costs me $1.58 per pound, shipping included.

Essential Depot has really good sales. I got 32# for $50 or so the last time I ordered.

ED did just have a really good sale, the lye ended up being less than $2 per lbs. I am fortunate that I live close-ish, saves on shipping!

When ED has their sales, I use them. When I need lye between ED sales, I buy from Amazon. For me this is the most cost-effective. Bulk Apothacary costs too much for smaller orders, so that does not work for me.

I prefer ED lye bottles because use them to store my masterbatch lye. But I re-use them, so don't really need ew ones very often.

I still have 1/2 a 5 gal bucket of lye from years ago.
I only bought the new at Ace because I wanted to use the coupon and make a batch to make sure my old lye was fine
