I am getting ahead of myself here as I have soooo many soaps that I want to make!!!! :D

But, I keep hearing about salt soaps, and am curiouser and curiouser!

Please tell me the whys of making salt soaps and the benefits, and I am sure I will be planning on making some very soon. ;)

Thanks!

I don't know if there are any benefits, I like salt soap more then plain soap. It makes my skin feel softer, but that is just me. Try making a small batch just to see why it is different from plain soap.

Salt bars have a very creamy lotion like lather , it is great for shaving legs imho . It does leave your skin feeling really , really nice . Good ahead give it a try , they are not hard to make .

They are great gentle exfoliant soap bars. I love using mine once or twice a week. Removing all the dead skin cells makes your skin healthier looking and easier to absorb moisturizers.

Something about a salt bar that just seems so spa like to me. Definitely something you want to try IMHO!

Salt bars are the coolest things to me. They are as hard as rocks, and bathing with one is like bathing with a smooth, polished stone that just so happens to lather. They last forever, too.

A lot of people get creamy, lotiony lather with them, but mine bubble up with lots of fluffy lather now that I add a lower amount of salt than what I used to add. Even though I use less salt nowadays, I still get rock-hard bars.

Besides making rock-hard bars, the salt also helps when you get a cut or a nick from shaving. My DH says if he gets cut during shaving, the cut heals a lot faster when he uses my salt bars.
