I am completely new to soap making. I am very excited about getting the hang of the process. I have made four batches with very little success :(... I remelted one of them and added a little water and oil and it might end up ok. I followed the recipes very closely but I am doing something wrong. Do any of you have what they think is the best beginner recipe that I should start with? I need a recipe to master to get the hang of this I think...
Any help or advice would be much appreciated...:)

Ok Thanks...

first one
Olive oil 10.75oz
lard 5.38 oz
coconut oil 7.17 oz
h20 8.85 oz
lye 3.35

heres another one I tried
lard 6 oz
coconut oil 7 oz
olive oil 3 oz
h20 6.08
lye 2.41

found these online though they looked basic. Too green to know.

Thanks!

Make sure you run any recipe through a lye calculator such as SoapCalc before trying them. A simple typo on a printed page or on the internet can ruin a batch of soap.

I did use soapcalc and I also downloaded an app for my phone...Thats why I'm wondering if its something Im doing or not doing....

What is it with the soaps that you think there's something wrong with them?

For me, they would be way too cleansing. They're both above the recommended cleansing values.
Just in case you don't know, cleansing in soap making does not mean clean. All soap cleans. Cleansing refers to the extra oils that the saponified oil picks up/strips away.

what did you superfat at 5,6, or 7 or more? Floral FO will over heat so they should be added last to the batch. If you put mold in a real cool place it will halp not over heat them. I would not wrap a soap with a foral FO in it.
