Babassu oil can replace lard/tallow/palm oil I don't like using any of those other ingredients either ;-)

This is an old thread, but your suggestion is plain wrong. It replaces coconut or palm kernel oil. It would be completely different than lard in a soap.

Babassu replaces PKO and CO as EG mentioned above. It is still a cleansing oil when used in soap unlike lard and palm. Tallow has low cleansing values but makes a hard soap with low solubility and a creamy lather.

Perhaps my wording was misconstrued, but I use recipes that call for lard or tallow, but replace it with babassu, run it through soapcalc, and have no issues with my soap... :neutral:
