Just tried to do a simple one color swirl with Brambleberry's Baby Rose (which I've never worked with before), and the darned thing almost seized on me. I know it was the FO because I'd already pulled out a portion at light trace and added the colorant to it, but no scent, and it behaved perfectly. About two seconds after, I was stirring the FO into the remainder and it accelerated big time. By the time I finished getting it into the mold, it was a pudding consistency, and when I tried to pour the swirl, of course it just sat on top. I thought about just leaving it and having it as a thin top layer, but I really wanted a pink swirl, darnit! So, I stuck in my skewer and tried to do a few figure eights. Big mistake. The bottom scented layer came up into the colored layer in chunks, and now it looks like a big mess. Bah. I'll see how it looks tomorrow. It may be my first rebatch. Anyone else used this FO?

I have soaped this twice now but do it at room temp with no water discounts and have been able to play with it. sorry to hear of your seize hope it turns out okay for you. Florals are well known to accelerate.

I don't like floral scents myself and hardly ever use them, so even though I know they're likely to accelerate, it's not something I've had happen often. I took BB's comment, "It's a delight to work with in CP soap," a little too literally. Ah, well. I unmolded and cut it just now and it turned out okay as a simple white/pink layered soap. I'll swirl something else today to make up for it. Maybe that buttercream and snickerdoodle if it cooperates. Mmm. Never worked with it, either, so we shall see.

I see what you mean...Yes, I guess if I read that I would think it soaped with no acceleration or discolor.

Also - I'm poking around on both of your blogs and think your soaps are just beautiful. The sculpting and stamping you do, Lynn, is just breathtaking. And A.G., I can't wait to try those little bathroom cup soaps you did. Lovely work.
