Lol I don't know if I spelled heighth right. Looks odd somehow.

I made thick bars about 2 and a half mos ago and even though they were turned on a regular basis to dry out and cure, they never did get a lilttle thinner. I wonder why that is? They are 1 and 3/8" thick and I guess that's not too bad if they're not very long. Still hand-sized.

I can't help you on why they shrank the way they did, but I can help you with the spelling. It's "height" LOL

Okay, there is no such word like depth, breadth? I might Google this out of curiousity.

Since the length is longer, any shrinkage will be more noticeable. If you don't believe me, feel free to try a size where the height is taller than the length :p

Also, and I am not sure about this one, it's possible that any side that you cut will lose water more easily.

That makes sense to me, both points but especially the cut sides losing more water that is. Since the poured surface is getting air for days before the cut sides do. I unmold after about 3 days so that the paper doesn't stick to the soap too much. Then after about 4 hours of just letting it set I cut the slab.

Soap never fails to be interesting and surprise me! :)
