Hello!

i'm new here and am looking for some help; i want to make an organic baby wash for my daughter i researched all the ingredients that i want to use but have no idea as to how much to use of each one, its composed mostly of oils, the main soap ingredients would be vegetable glycerin and coco-glucoside. any one here ever use those products?

thanx!

Thanx for the idea but I did look into castille soaps and it calls for lye and I don't want to put that in the soap for my daughter

lol that website was cute and informative, i didn't know that the lye dissipating in the castille soap, maybe i'll make a castille soap and a coco-glucoside and see which one I like better.

Thanx for the information!

You're welcome!

it doesn't really "dissipate". its the chemical reaction of lye with oils that create soap. like yellow + blue = green. as long as you formulate properly (I recommend soapcalc.com ) all the lye is consumed by the reaction and you have no lye left - just soap and a bit of oil too.

Go to www.theherbarie.com. They have a great baby wash. Part of the problem with liquid(I assume you want liquid) castille soap is the PH and because the PH is high it will burn if it gets in the eyes.

Now what is your definition of organic? I'm not sure about coco-glucoside but I'm pretty sure it is a chemical compound.
