I knew this day would come. I’m getting ready to have to buy a stick blender, :sadgoodbye: and I have the hardest time making decisions. I’ve already bought one, tried it and sent it back. I know I know I’ve already gone back and read prior post about who’s bought this and that, :beatinghead:

I really give my stick blenders a workout. (These days, I have been making 40 bar batches.) I have found that I need at least a 300 watt unit. More, if you can afford it. Amazon has one with 1000 watts but I am suspicious - too good to be true.

Yes I’m looking for a heavy duty model. The one I’m working with now is old a way too noisy.

I was just going to say..I bought my stick blender from Walmart and it has been going strong for years.

Me too, but 2 Christmases ago Bramble Berry offered a free SB for those who purchased 'x' amount. With what my son was spending on me and what my husband was also, I got 2 stick blenders!
My Walmart SB still works though; I just couldn't pass up that deal.

I think that the Walmarts are probably good for small batches--maybe up to 5 lbs but bigger you may need a commercial one....I have loved my old small one tho....does the trick. Excellent score, by the way!

Yes, even the Walmart SBs are suitable for small batches. Oh my gosh, would I be thrilled if I had the $$ to purchase a commercial SB. Maybe I'll request of my hubby and son not to buy me anything for 3 Christmases and on the 4th go in together to get me a commercial one. I don't sell, so I have no need to make huge batches; I make soap to satisfy my creative bug so (right now) really have no need of one. I started due to skin and allergy/asthma issues but had no idea I'd fall in love with making soap.

Thanks. Yes, I did and was elated that I now have 3. I figured that I could use them as a tag-team if I do decide to make a humongous batch to prevent burning up any of the motors.
