A friend is having a baby shower next Sat, June 18, and she wanted me to make something soapy for favors. Problem is, she just told me! Is there anything at all that I can make that will cure in 1 week? Bath fizzies, salt bars, anything?!

I hate to tell her no....I'm afraid I won't have a choice though :(

You can make MP (melt and pour) soap. Buy your soap base, color and scent it then pour it into molds. You can be as creative as you like - it's fun and you can use them the same day!

Melt and pour...hmmm....never tried it. Think I could make something decent enough to give as favors with a week or less to learn? lol

If you're going to go for soap favors on such short notice, I definitely second the Melt & Pour recommendation. It's very simple to learn the basics (it'll take you way less than a day to learn), and it's quick and easy without a cure time to worry about.

As already mentioned, lip balms & lotion bars are other quick options, as well as anhydrous body butters.

One oz perfume sprays are great, too. I make those up on the fly all the time for quick gifts.

IrishLass :)

They definitely wanted something soapy...so maybe M&P it is!

I know I can ask this on the MP forum, but I trust you guys more :)...anyway, can you add GM to a MP base? I see some bases with it already but I'd rather use my own GM. How can I do that?

Nevermind! Did a search and the answer popped right up! That rarely ever happens!

Just bought a GM base and it's killing me to not use Fred's fresh milk...but it's OK. Will let you know how it turns out!

Um, I personally wouldn't commit to anything you font already have an expertise with. Even relatively simple things are not as simple as they seem at first glance.

You could always do HP - the soap would be ready in a week and if you already have experience with CP you'll be fine....

We have a back up plan, just in case. ;)

Thanks for all the help, ladies, I'll let you know what happens!

lotion bars are awesome and so easy, co, shea, beeswax, melt and pour into molds( oops, add fo after melting). put in cute organza drawstring bags.
