I want to try the tea soap but wondered if the smell of the tea comes thru in the end. Does it?

Also..... can you use vanilla extract for scenting? I used to make cakes and I know there is one that is clear and wondering if that would not make the soap change color. Anyone care to experiment? LOL

Most of the time when I use tea, the smell that comes through is not the smell of the tea, but rather a "burnt herbal" smell. However, the Lemon Berry Zinger tea had a great scent come through.. lemony and tangy, but still a bit of the herbaly burnt smell too.

Here's the Lemon Berry Zinger tea - no added color at all

Used the tea for the liquid in the lye solution. Added the grounds from those teabags to the soap.

That color is pretty. I bet the color came from the Berry they used. I have some Black Cherry Berry Tea wonder what color it would be LOL

Is that colour from the rosehips in the tea?

I have NO idea!
Every other time I've soaped with tea (any kind of tea) it's been brown and you couldn't smell the tea at all (except that burnt herbaly scent)..
This time (different tea) it's a gorgeous color and you can smell it a bit beneath the FO. Awesome.
