Now's probably a good time to do it.
My mom loves lavender, so I made some soap just for her. Here's my recipe:
80% olive oil (infused with lavender buds)
15% natural shea butter
5% castor oil
After infusing the oil with the lavender buds, I strained them out and made the soap. At light trace I added a small amount of lavender EO, maybe about 5 mL (in 20 oz of base oils). I then added a small amount of fresh chopped lavender buds and gently mixed them in.
Cut the soap into bars this morning, it is a nice creamy ivory soap with bits of lavender in it. The scent is mild and soft, just how I wanted it.
Should be perfect for use by Mother's Day. Just have to figure out how to package it to make it look nice... any suggestions from the ladies of the forum?
