this is my recipe
1.5 cocoa butter
6 avocado butter
10.5 palm
6 coconut
6 shea
9.9 water
4.1 lye

I dont know how to use soap calc., how will this be? creamy, not bubbly i would imagine. Hard bar, maybe last longer?

My normal recipe uses mostly all hard oils and butters. Works fine, I have to unmold and cut sooner than others perhaps but I like it. Within a couple days I have a rock hard bar of soap :)

The coconut would make fluffy lather, that is for sure.

It is fun to tinker with soapcalc. I spent a while reading around the site before playing with the actual calculator. Maybe just mess around with it, and you'll get the idea? It has information on which oils and their properties cause different things in soap. Like how ricinoleic fatty acids found in castor oil make for a conditioning, yet fluffy and bubbly lather.

dumb question, how do i figure out how much percent is say 9 0z? my batch is always 30 oz.

To find out the percentage, I divide the smaller amount by the total, and then multiply by 100.

So if you are trying to figure out what percentage 9 oz is out of 30 , 9 oz / 30 oz = 0.3

0.3 X 100 = 30

So 30%

No question is a dumb question :)

Just take the number you want to find (let's say, the 9 in your example), divide it by the total fats and multiply it times 100. that'll give you the percentage.
For example9 oz, out of a total fat weight of 30 oz will be 9/30=0.3, and 0.3x100=30%

Hope it helps. :)
