You really shouldn't be using anything but warm water in between your legs.
Soap, or any other washing product, even the ones especially designed for it, do more harm than good...
They change your natural ph value, which is fairly acidic. That's what's protecting your vagina from everything on the outside.
When you do wash with soap & other products, you have a lot more chance of getting bacterial and fungal infections.

I'm sorry to bring up this "ancient" thread but... I have to agree. After years of more or less constant yeast infections I stopped the soap. All of it. I haven't had a yeast or bladder infection since. I believe with dagmar that changing the pH of delicate body areas is unhealthy. A careful scrub with a washcloth and running water will take care of all your cleansing needs. It has been several years now since I washed with soap and my husband STILL has no idea I don't use it.

for me the same, I used to wash way too often and with soap and had an infection pretty often. My mother taught me to wash often with soap and I thought I was doing the right ting.
After a while my doctor explaned to me why that kept happening and he made me stop using any cleaning stuff... Really did help, no more troubles ever since.

I agree with this - warm water only on the girly bits, and not to use bubble bath every time.

I was brought up that washing with warm water was best and soap was not necessary down there so that is what I have always done and I have never had any yeast/bladder problems (touch wood!).

I am wondering though - I think I read somewhere that M&P has a different ph to CP but I can't remember if it was higher or lower. Does anyone know what the ph difference is and whether that means one type of soap would be better than the other for such areas?
