I am after a recipe measured in ounces or grams (i'm not very clever when it comes to %'s lol) for a goats milk soap that will be creamy, bubbly and lasting.

I used one recipe a while back and it came out beautiful although it didn't last long, I found the recipe today, it had been chewed on so the goat probably got hold of it :x , unfortunately it is pretty unreadable lol

I've been meaning to hop on for ages and ask but was thinking this would be the long lost "out of reach" soap lol.

oops! I forgot to mention i'm all out of palm oil and we don't have the american type crisco here in Australia.

You can always do a search for soap calculators,(i use ozcalc) and run through a few recipes with what you have on hand or can get your hands on.

Thanks, I think i'll give that a go. would I need an equal part of soft oils and hard oils?

Platypus moon, I just took a look at the ozcalc, I quite liked that one I think i'll save it to my favourites.
Question though, I downloaded the offline excell spread sheet and ran a recipe off that but when I looked at the reccomended lye amount it was all in % am I not reading something properly?, I am really BAD when it comes to % so I may have to stick to using the calc online.

If your goat chewed on the recipe, does that mean she doesn't want you to use her milk in soap?

% are parts of 100.

to convert a formula (recipe) from % to ounces or whatever simply multiply your TOTAL oils weight (desired batch size) by the %

so if you are making a 32 ounce batch that has 30% palm you you want 30 of the 100 parts of the formula to be palm oil. the calculation is
32 X 0.30

MsBien, lol nah I think it was our rescue doe that did the chomping. Maybe I should take out each recipe and pass it by the goats first for their approval hehe.
