HAPPY SOAPING! :computerbath:

Coconut makes me break out in hives. Even when it's in soaps.

I just started researching soapmaking because I realized It was something in my (store bought) shampoo and conditioner that's been making me congested. I had been falsely accusing the cats of sleeping on my pillow. Opps. All the local handmade products are made with coconut.

I have ordered and received most of my supplies, and just need a few more things before I can make my first batch.
To be sure, have you confirmed if you're just allergic to coconut or if you have tree nut allergies (which sometimes includes coconut)? Also, it is very hard to find products where coconut based surfactants are not used. It might be beneficial to ask around if you know anyone else with your circumstance. In any case, welcome to soap making and please know that you can create a soap you like without the coconut oil if you want.

@KiwiMoose , when I was selling at Farmer's Markets, I would ask for feedback. At this market, lots of the folks returned to the market regularly. When I sold something, I would often say, "I love feedback, both good and bad. It's the only way I can improve. So please after you try this, feel free to give me feedback." I got lots of feedback. I am currently staying away from markets (covid) so really miss that, but hopefully this summer, I will participate in a few.
The only concern I had was that I might react badly to negative feedback, so I kind of prepared myself for that possibility. So far I've been able to deal with it quite well. The information was usually quite valuable and sometimes you may end up with special orders as @TheGecko has.
