another soap embed

So .. I made this the other day and just got around to cutting it this morning.

Hubby looked over my shoulder and said, "you made blue *coughballcough* ... soap ... oh never mind" and walked away. :shock:

The embeds were made around the 7th but were still quite soft when I put them in. The white base for this was 100% CO and CM which gelled fast and hot so I think the embeds gelled too, at least partially.

The co/cm hardens fast and I planned to cut it last night but ended up in hospital with a broken ankle instead .. I spent all night in pain and still worrying about this dang soap so there I was on crutches and in a boot, cutting it first thing this morning. It was quite hard but still cut well.

yep, 100% co soap does gelled fast and hot. when i did mine, it was so hot, the top suddenly got this 1 weird bubble. it certainly wasn't part of my design, lol. it wasn't really a bubble, coz i can't poke at it. it looked like 1 big, giant acne. when i cut mine, it was already too hard for the wire cutter to handle, so i gotta use the knife.

wait till you take this soap to the shower, i think you'll be pleased! mega bubbles + the cm makes it nice, soft, and creamy..

I had one of those too but I caught it just in time to push it back down and then I kept taking the lid off intermittently so it would finish gelling but not so hot it would explode. Now some of the bars have a crackly top because of that but it's ok by me.

.. because I am a genetic clutz .. it runs in the family! I went out in the yard on a rainy day and slipped on wet grass. How absolutely pathetic is THAT!!

Last year I slipped on ice and went head first into the stairs, with a nice pair of black eyes and some stitches to go with.

Thanks for the prayers, Doc says it should heal in 3 to 4 weeks but with Hubby playing housemaid I think it might just take 6 or 7 weeks to heal :lolno:

Sounds like you need to be bubble wrapped for safety. I have a mate who during the last 12 months has broken her ankle tripping over the dishwasher door, dislocated her pinkie finger by snagging it in her trousers and busted her wrist tripping over a dog. You 2 should hook up and swap tips.

Love the soap! Those embeds look perfect and colours are awesome. Oh and soap is slippery. Just a reminder lol.

Sounds like you need to be bubble wrapped for safety.

I swear it's a house cleaning thing. I worked for 20+ years in forestry, handled a chainsaw almost every day, walked in bear territory every day, dealt with atv's and other tricky equipment and NEVER hurt myself once.

Leave me in and around the house, especially if I'm cleaning .. and I get hurt doing the dumbest things. Reading your friend's list is much like mine; dislocated a toe walking into the couch, tore a ligament stepping off the sidewalk, slipped on steps and broke my tailbone .. etc, etc. Just a pathetic list of silly accidents that are so embarrassing. Other people have exciting accidents they brag about .. like something to do with a trapeze or snake charming!!!

Ah well .. won't be soaping for a few days I guess. At least until the swelling goes down a bit.

ETA: lots of time to watch soaping videos at least!

mzmolly65, i think you and i are related (as well as derpina bubbles' friend!) mine werent silly accidents though, me, i was mostly getting my keester handed to me by a horse mostly. anyway, i hope that you enjoy your downtime somehow! been there done that with a broken ankle, when you are an outdoorsy person it is hard to be good and sit still that long good thing its winter, makes it a bit easier to stay still

I used to get my toes broken a lot growing up, cuz I have always hated shoes and would be out playing with the horses barefoot. Only thing I ever broke though. But considering how those hurt, I can't imagine a broken ankle. Ouch!

I've had my keester handed to me by some horses lol. Dislocated* my hip being bucked off (my boss forgot to mention the horse she wanted me to train hadn't been worked with in over a year...), smashed up my hand with some dislocations against a jump standard coming off the pony I was training... In the first I got back on and finished the session, in the second I got back on, finished the session, put away the jump standards, and THEN drove myself to the ER for xrays.... When my horse broke my foot I had a friend there to drive me to the ER at least lol. In fact she insisted, despite the fact I then ended up driving with my left foot for the next 6 weeks anyway.

*I have a genetic disorder that makes my joints dislocate extremely easily, daily, so its not a huge deal to reduce a joint and go back to what I was doing.

Mzmolly65- yes i can imagine what you went through with mules!!! wowsers! and Lin, i think it is a good thing that you and i have stepped away from horses! ha ha. Well, atleast i have for the time being! i havent been on a horse in five years. thats too long.
