Can you use regular food colouring to colour CPHP soap? I know you can with rebatched soap (tried it) but it would be awesome if it worked on HP too as I am having a HECK of a time getting the hang of using oxides, ultramarines, etc. to colour. They never turn out right for me and it is getting very frustrating!

I have loads of Wilton gel colours and it would be awesome if I could use some of those to colour my HP soap. I'm almost ready to give up on using oxides, etc!

Thanks!

I don't know if they will work. The reason that they don't work in CP is because the PH alters the colours. I don't know about HP though. I guess all you can do is give it a try.,

I have used food coloring in hot processed soap. The colors are truer if you use titanium oxide to whiten the soap. If I don't use titanium oxide, blue is teal and green is close to teal. Red is pink.
I have better results by removing a small amount of soap coloring with the food coloring and dropping clumps back in. Brief stir and dump into the mold.

Red didn't faded in the 6 months I still had it around. The more recent batches are selling quickly. I prefer chlorophyll for green coloring.

I've been coloring with food coloring. The colors do shift, my purple turns pink - hot pink every time. Orange stays pretty true, but very light, blue gets kinda greenish/teal colored.

I've used them with no morphing as long as I make sure that the soap has absolutely no zap left to it before adding the color.
